New Fiction: Robot Burial on Nature Futures

This week the weekly science journal Nature published my short story along with a column about the inspiration for the story and a lovely piece of art.

“Robot Burial” is a touching story about a man in the somber position of having to dispose of his robot. It is in the Nature Futures column for January 26, 2016. To learn more about the ideas and science that inspired the story, check out the Future Conditional blog.

This is my second time appearing in Nature. My first story, “Immeasurable”, appeared in November 2013 and was included in Nature Futures 2: Science Fiction from the Leading Science Journal.

Like near-future speculative fiction? What do you think about robot aids? Let me know in the comments.
